Refund Policy

Refund conditions vary per product category.
Categories include Domains, Hosting, Website Development, Website Management, General Products or Services including Labour.
Domain names
Under no circumstances are refunds given for a domain name that has already been purchased, transfered or renewed as this is a liscence fee and in the event that a liscence may be able to be canceled the payment is not refundable.
However the purchaser may change their mind after choosing a domain BUT prior to making a payment, in this case use the links at the bottom of the page IMEDIATELY you have done this and do not submit a payment so that this may be resolved.
Hosting Accounts
A refund policy of 30 days no questions asked applies. So on starting a hosting account you choose to cancel you may do so and apply for a refund for the hosting ammount over the period up to 30 days (Excluding domain fees and charges).
Outside of the 30 day period you may cancel your account aslong as you give Direct Support 7 days notice using the Refund support department link at the bottom on the main website http://www.dshost.com.au/ in this case once Direct Support Staff have recorded your termination details you will be refunded any amount outstanding that you have pre-paid outside of the 7 days.
Note: Setup fees are non refundable and are not included in the following formula So if a $9.95 setup fee was applied this is taken out prior to establishing the refund amount.
Formula used:
a = Time period in days
b = Amount paid for time period (excluding setup fees)
c = Days used during time period.
a - c - 7 x [ b / a ] = refund_amount
Example A: Cancelling an existing hosting account on the 200th day of a yearly account which someone is paying $199 in this example.
365days - 207days x [ $199 / 365days ] = Refund of $86.15
Example B: Cancelling an existing hosting account on the 27th day of a monthly account outside the initial 30 days which someone is paying $9.95 in this example.
31days - 34days x [ $9.95 / 31days ] = No refund as the 7 day notice period uses up the remainder.
Example C: Cancelling a new hosting account on the 25th day of a monthly account which someone is paying $9.95 in this example.
Within first 30 days = Full refund of $9.95 (excludes setup fees)
Please note that on canceling your hosting account data may be left on our server for a period of 7 or more days.
We will not hand out your username or password as per our Privacy Policy after the termination of your account during this time.
How will refunds be issued?
The refund will be issued via the same path that the payment was made.
ie. If payment was made by Paypal then your refund will come via Paypal.
How long will my refund take?
When a refund has been approved by Direct Support Staff then refund will be executed within 7 business days.
Note: Due to circumstances outside of our control there may be delays up to 14 days.
